Guys, I Know What I’m Gonna Do Today!

It’s Sunday here in the Philippines, and I know what I’m gonna do.  I’m going to download and print a bunch of copies of this plotting worksheet that wifosaurus posted on her writing blog (I encourage you guys to do that too).  And while I’m printing them (three hundred copies isn’t too much, right?), I’m also going to work on this one fantasy/might be sci-fi novel idea I’ve been tinkering with using Jim Butcher’s writing tips to see how effective it really is for getting my creativity flowing.

Either that, or I’ll try and finish reading Freakonomics by the end of the weekend – part of my initiative to read at least six non-fiction books by the end of the year.

Yeah, I’m flexible.  I won’t beat myself up because I read instead of wrote or wrote instead of read.  As far as I’m concerned, they’re both important to my life; they both count as productivity in my (proverbial) book.

Either way, I KNOW WHAT I’M GONNA DO TODAY.  You guys have any plans too?

  1. That’s the way to do it! If you aren’t writing, take a break and read! I usually go for a walk, or bake something in between both. But once you find the thing you like to do in writing breaks, it makes coming back to your writing so much easier!

Today my boyfriend and I just spent some time snuggling on the couch and reading. Tomorrow is my first day back into the world after a week away for spring break, so I just wanted to take it easy.

Glad you had a wonderful Sunday!

  2. lol thanks for the mention. I hope the worksheets work! I’ve realized that my novel is going to be a trilogy, so I’ll be adapting it a bit for series novels. Not sure when I will get it ready to post on my blog, but that will be coming up sometime 🙂

    1. It’s my pleasure to mention your worksheet – I think it’s helpful for getting one’s thoughts in order.

And I’m excited to see how this adapts to series works! I have one or two things I’m working on that look like they might be series-type works after all (if not same-universe one-shots).

What do you think?
