Just Watched: Rurouni Kenshin – Kyoto Inferno

This is going to be one of my shorter reviews, mainly because it will be limited to what did and did not work for me – I will not be comparing this film to the anime/manga I knew and loved on account of not having watched/read the “original” sources in years. Why bother comparing it to something that I can’t properly compare it to?

If you want to see a comparison between Kenshin then and now, though, you can check out this article co-written by Ronin Bautista and Mikael Angelo Francisco. WARNING: It’s spoilery!

If you’re okay with me doing a review of the film itself, then YAY THANK YOU! Just click the number “2” at the bottom of this page.

  1. I’m sorry, Elea, but I didn’t read your review for fear of getting spoiled. I am so sad because I wasn’t able to watch this sequel a week ago because I got too busy. And now, it’s gone. Our cinemas are already showing other movies. What I can do right now is to wait for the DVD versions to come out in our rental shop. And that would take long. 😦 What’s annoying is that I don’t even want to watch the other movies: If I Stay, Ways to Die In The West, Beauty and the Beast, etc. T_T Glad that The Giver is already out and somehow, it consoled me.

    1. Oh I’m so sorry that you didn’t get to see it, Charlotte. 😦 Hopefully, the DVD won’t take too long to come out.

PS: It drives me nuts when perfectly good movies are edged out way too quickly by other films, even when they don’t have to be.

PPS: I didn’t even know that a Beauty and the Beast movie was slated to come out this month o_0

What do you think?
