Little Joys – A Poem

Note: This is not the final version of the poem. If you’re seeing this, then that means my life got the better of me and I haven’t been able to polish this draft this week.

Hope this is enjoyed nevertheless.

Simple Joys

I always hurt too much
when there are no kittens
to hunch over

Always ached an extra inch
without Coca Cola fizz
on my tongue

I need that six-inch stretch
at 4 am in the morning

And your name blinking
on my phone
